Meet Dani
I've been there...
Witnessing the in-home caregiving of a loved one dying from cancer?
Losing a parent as a teen?
Navigating the whirlwind of a dance between depression and anxiety since childhood?
Experiencing panic attack after panic attack and wondering if relief will come?
Figuring out faith deconstruction and reclamation from the evangelical Christian Church?
Picking up the pieces after burning out yet again?
Working to loosen the grips of perfectionism?
Trying to find balance between high achievement and rest?
Overwhelmed with the trauma responses that seem to change suddenly and unexpectedly?

As a therapist, I have the continued training and education to support clients navigating a variety of concerns. But just as important, in my opinion is - I GET it. I have lived experience that aids me in providing tailored care for each of my clients. I don't work with clients from a high and mighty position but one that involves me virtually sitting next to them and walking this thing called life out with them as a part of their support system.

I've been in the trenches, dug my way out, returned there, and come out the other side time and time again. I have hope for my clients because I've also seen hope play out in my own life. I've seen firsthand how supports like therapy, medication, friends and family while doing the hard work of taking responsibility and making changes in one's life can create a life worth living.

When I'm not in the therapy space, I enjoy:
-
Snuggling my pup
-
Catching up with family and friends
-
Reading low-stakes fiction - No anxiety-inducing plot twists for me
-
Spending time in nature - and the occasional running away screaming from a bug or snake
-
Eating gluten-free goodies - I didn't choose the gluten-free life; it chose me.
-
Visiting the North Georgia mountains
-
Tending to my house plants - Which have mostly stayed alive, I might add

My Approach
I take an integrative approach to therapy, meaning I don't just utilize one form of therapy. I pull from a variety of treatments depending on each client's needs. The types of therapy treatment I pull from most often include:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Mindful Self-Compassion
"Parts Work" - Internal Family Systems Informed
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

I'm always learning new techniques and treatments, which means clients aren't getting a cookie cutter therapy experience. They're getting to learn, just like me, what works and doesn't work for them.

I’m neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, an ally to the LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities, and take into account the entire person, their environment and the community around them, not just their symptoms or diagnosis. I love equipping clients with tangible tools and knowledge while also providing a place for them to let go of those burdens and feel seen, heard and understood.
What I can help with:
Depression
Anxiety
Panic Attacks
Life Transitions
Stress Management
Burnout
Perfectionism
Boundary Setting
Self Esteem
Religious Deconstruction and Reclamation
Relationship Issues
